This land at 8a Wasleys Road had been owned by the Police Department for many years, until the Mallala Traders 2000 Committee instigated public donations toward part funding the purchase  of the four blocks by the Mallala District Council in 1994.

The Traders Committee and friends (after consultation with the Council gardener) donated the money to purchase plants. On Anzac day 1995 committee members and friends planted trees and shrubs and continued the weed control and watering program to establish the area.

In 2009 The Mallala and District Lions Club kindly donated a seat which is placed adjacent to the walkway through the Australia Remebers Park.

The Mallala KESAB committee have taken over the weed control and watering of new plants.

In the year 2010 it is an attractive area .
